Diving Zanzibar’s Coral Reefs

Zanzibar’s reefs grow along shallow coastlines influenced by tides, sediment, and gradual change. And the reefs are incredibly healthy, fed by the rushing water, and the surface intervals are spent watching traditional dhows sail by. It feels organic and connected to the old ways of life.

Our favorite, the diving at Mnemba Atoll is colorful and busy, full of schooling fish and dolphins. We love the laid-back nature of it. It’s the kind of diving where you just let the current take you along the wall, watching the show unfold without having to work for it.
