Diving Mozambique’s Wild Coast

Mozambique is for the adventurous. It is not polished, and the boat launches through the surf will definitely wake you up. We love it because it’s the land of giants—giant mantas, whale sharks, and humpbacks in plankton-rich, sometimes green water. It feels like an expedition every time you go out, far removed from the commercial dive crowds.

This isn't clear-water aquarium diving; this is wild, nutrient-heavy ocean that attracts the biggest mouths in the sea. We dive here because we are willing to trade visibility for size. Seeing a manta ray the size of a car glide out of the gloom is worth every bumpy boat ride.
